According to Yahoo it appears that the payments captured through SM are not using the authorization codes generated when an order is placed. This is problematic on 2 levels?

1.   The customer thinks we have double charged them when the ?authorization hold? does not come off of their credit card Many customers simply don;t beleive that they have not been charged twice. We have been told ny a number of customers that they will not shop with us again because of this issue with "held" funds.
2.   We pay higher credit card rates for charges that are not processed as ?Authorized?

Yahoo wanted us to confirm that you are using the Payment API integration for our 4 stores. Looking at our Real Time Link API partners, it looks like this may not be the case.

Is SM using the Payment API integration?

Is this a ?fixable? problem?

mbcarr1975,

SuperManager literally logs into the Yahoo store manager and presses the "Sale" button on each order.  Yahoo *should* be referencing the original authorization when you do that, but you could ask them if there are ever any circumstances where it creates a new authorization.  The only time where SuperManager would make a new authorization is when you specifically tell it to.  This can happen in one of two ways:

1. You press the "Authorize" button on the order details screen.

- or -

2. When you press the "Sale" button on the order details screen SuperManager tells you "A pre-authorization is recommended before charging this amount.  Would you like to pre-authorize now?" and you choose yes.  This can happen for one of three reasons:
2a. There is no authorization record in the order.
        - or -
2b. The amount you are asking to charge is greater than the amount authorized.
        - or -
2c. You have already charged the order once, thereby using that authorization

SuperManager is not using the Payment API currently, however, the system I have decribed works directly through Yahoo's processes.

Thanks,
David
