problems with communications between Dazzle (upgrade) and SM

We had to update Dazzle last night due to new postal regulations. Now Dazzle and SM are not communicating - tracking info not uploading from Dazzle to SM  It also seems to be causing SM to freeze up and we have to close SM and reopen. (we also upgraded to the latest version of SM this morning)
Any ideas?  Thanks!

I have an idea of what might have happened.  With the recent updates to Dazzle they moved the templates from where they were stored to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Endicia\DAZzle to be compliant with new windows security policies.  Please check the following:


  • Go to "View", "Store Settings..." and select the "Custom Fields" tab
  • Double click on the first ship method
  • Select "XML Exchange - DAZzle/Endicia" on the list of exports
  • Check the dazzle xml layout path and make sure that it specifies a file in the folder above.  If not, change the folder for the file to the above or press "Browse..." and browse to that folder and select the file.
  • Press "OK" to save and close the ship method settings
  • Repeat these steps for each ship method on the list

After that, also check the following:

  • Go to "View", "Program Settings..." and select the "XML Exchange Formats" tab
  • Select "Dazzle/Endicia" from the list
  • Under "Dazzle import file" make sure that the filename specified is "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Endicia\DAZzle\xml\sm-dazzle.xml"
  • Press "OK" to save and close the program settings
  • Go to the windows explorer (windows' file manager - you can get there by pressing the windows button and e on your keyboard)
  • Navigate to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Endicia\DAZzle\"
  • Make sure that a folder named "xml" exists in that folder.  If not create one

I imagine that one or both of those things will get this working again.
