software system to prevent human error when picking orders

We purchase our items by the case. Then sell online by the piece. Some of the items are tops & bottoms which we purchase separately by the case but then sell as a set by the piece.

We do not use manufacturers codes when selling. Every time we hire a new employee, we have loads of errors with order picking.

Customers are understandably mad.

Is there some automated system in which the order picker can walk around the warehouse, maybe holding a handheld screen/scanner device. The order should appear on the screen & prompt the picker on which is the correct item to pick(using various manufacturers codes etc..). Stop him if he has picked the wrong item & not let him go further if he has skipped an item??

Of course, any new system must be compatible with Supermanager

Any recommendations please?!!?

The growing pains are awful

Thank you

Goldie,

Sounds like a neat idea.  I'm not aware of anything like that currently available as a pre-packaged solution.  I'm sure that some of the large vendors on the internet like Amazon have something like that, but they've probably invested a lot of money into developing it in house.  If you find a solution like that out there and need SuperManager to export the item codes in a specific format we can help you with that.

Thanks,
David
