Anyone using QuickBooks 2017 should hold off installing the newest update ... R5.  You may or may not have any issues; however, it's not worth taking the chance if you haven't already installed it.

Here's an article with the details:  https://www.accountexnetwork.com/blog/2017/04/quickbooks-2017-r5-problems/

To see what release you are running; with QBs open press F2.  This will open a dialog box that tells you what version, maintenance release, etc. - look at the top left-hand corner of the screen to see version year and maintenance release.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

QuickBooks / QuickBooks 2015 - Beware
September 28, 2014, 03:17:32 PM
For anyone who has purchased QuickBooks 2015, or Enterprise 15 - or if you are thinking about it - I wouldn't recommend installing it just yet.  As usual it's very buggy (Intuit needs to be up to R3 or R4 before you want to ever install/upgrade if possible); and if you use their merchant services or IPN (Intuit Payment Network) - it's NOT available in 2015.  There is supposed to be a replacement at some point - but they REALLY dropped the ball on this one.

In addition, I'm getting reports of connection issues with 3rd party programs (not sure about SM yet; I haven't had a chance to check it ... but while it might work for me others may still have issues) - so just stick it on a shelf for the next few months :-)

Also - when you do upgrade - NEVER upgrade the live file!  Always create a back-up and upgrade that one; this way if something goes wrong you won't be down.

QuickBooks / QuickBooks 2013 R7 Bug
June 12, 2013, 09:16:44 AM
Anyone using QuickBooks 2013 should stay away from the recent R7 update that was recently rolled out, as it's caused a huge problem with 3rd party program connections.  There are several great blog posts that document this in great detail; I would suggest starting with this one:  http://www.sleeter.com/blog/2013/06/quickbooks-2013-r7-bug-still-a-problem/

The critical fix that was released by Intuit has not resolved the problems for many users, so you may have to reinstall your program completely if you are affected and can't wait.

This is an Intuit problem - not a SuperManager issue.  Intuit is working hard to resolve this.

Hi Guys,

Yahoo store owners recently received an alert on  'Order Processor Role and Batch Review Changes' and I was wondering how it will affect SM users.  Will it affect them?  What should they do or look out for?

Thanks in advance!

QuickBooks / QB's 2012
November 21, 2011, 01:41:44 PM
Hi All,

I just wanted to make a quick post to let you know that SuperManager works QuickBooks 2012 & Enterprise 12; nothing has changed with the interface this year.

However I wouldn't recommend installing 2012 quite yet - there have been a number of issues so far.  For those of you on Enterprise you would have received 12 several weeks ago, so if it's still sitting on the shelf ... leave it there if possible :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

QuickBooks / IE 9 and QuickBooks
July 17, 2011, 11:59:59 AM
Just a quick note that QuickBooks does not work with IE9 at the moment and Intuit offers no support on this yet.  They are working on it :-)

If you have upgraded to IE9 and don't use any of the Internet based features you 'should' be ok (emailing forms or reports, banking download, etc.) - however if you are experiencing problems you should roll back to IE8.

QuickBooks / Alert for QuickBooks 2011 Users
July 16, 2011, 02:27:17 PM
If you installed R7 when it was pushed out, unfortunately there was a bug in it.  When you save a memorized transation QuickBooks will abort.  Please install R8 when it's pushed out or go to their support site and download/install now if you use this feature.

You can get R8 at http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Default.aspx  - it's near the top where it says 'Important Notice.'  Once R8 is installed QB's will no longer unexpectedly close or display the error "QuickBooks has stopped working" when creating a memorized transaction.

Program Setup / Amazon FBA
June 29, 2011, 08:13:39 AM
Hi Guys,

I followed your instructions from thread http://www.thesupermanager.com/forum/index.php/topic,962.0.html and have the MWS numbers.  There is no 'next' page on Amazon so I'm  we need to put these ID numbers in SM somewhere.  Do we replace Store ID, Username, or Password?  Or is there somewhere else they go?

Thanks!

QuickBooks / QuickBooks 2011
September 22, 2010, 11:40:03 AM
A quick heads-up for everyone.

QuickBooks 2011 will be shipping out/for sale around September 27th - much earlier then normal this year.

I have tested QuickBooks Pro/Premier and Enterprise with the latest version of The SuperManager on XP and Vista and everything seems to be working fine.  I have not tested with Windows 7 - but it shouldn't be a problem.

As usual, I would not recommend upgrading as soon as this comes out - wait for a little while to avoid unnecessary problems/issues.

I'll keep everyone posted if I find out anything new.

First and foremost I want everyone to know that I am NOT posting this to solicit anything or encourage a user to upgrade from Pro/Premier to Enterprise.  However with 2007 heading into Sunset on May 30th, a lot of users will need to upgrade to version 10 because of the various services they use will stop working.  Between the sunset issue and many times a SuperManager user is sending details to QuickBooks (or using the item list to track inventory) - upgrading to Enterprise may be a good option.

With the above disclaimers in mind; I really wanted to let users here know about a incredible sale on Enterprise 10 like no other that I have ever seen offered from Intuit.

Through our Reps; Enterprise 10 in on sale for less than it has ever been offered in the past. The discounts range from 25 - 30% - AND the pricing is LESS through the Reps then you can get through the Intuit site direct.

There is a special program these Reps belong to (thru Intuit); I am not part of the program but work with a great Rep. For instance, Intuit's website has the 5 User Enterprise listed at $2,250 (normal price is $3K), there is an additional discount beyond that; saving you another few hundred. The 10 and 15 users are also on sale with significant savings.  They are offering 20, 25,& 30 users at the 15 user price - again, less than the sale listed on their site.

I am not allowed to post the exact pricing, this will get the Rep in trouble; just wanted to state that so everyone knows this is on the up and up.  However it IS a substantial savings.

If anyone is interested or has the need to upgrade, PM or email me and I will forward the contact information to you so you get the discounted pricing. I can also give you the pricing privately.

I just wanted to pass along a good deal. Again, please know that I am NOT posting this to solicit anything one way or another; I've been part of the forum for a long time and just want to pass along something that may help someone save some money since 07 is going into sunset May 30th.

The offer is only good through the end of March 2010.  The other post has a link that outlines all the services that will stop working in 07:  http://www.thesupermanager.com/forum/index.php?topic=873.0

Just a quick heads up to anyone using QuickBooks 2007 ... on May 31st, 2010 various services in that version will stop working.  If you use QB's to process payroll, send forms, online banking or bill pay, terminal download, etc. - then you will need to upgrade.

For payroll, you can switch to something like Intuit Online Payroll (formerly PayCycle) and continue using 07 (let me know if you need more info on this).

Now is a good time for find a deal on 2010 and you have some time to watch for sales. If you do not use any of these services, then no worries.

Here is a link with more information: http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/DiscontinuationPlan.aspx

Now is the time to look for a good sale!

Hi Guys,

I just downloaded the newest version to test out and see there is a change in the QuickBooks and SuperManager sales tax interface.  The notes do not specifically state if we need to make any changes to the set-up of database information ... just want to confirm if that is the case?  Should we be making any changes in QuickBooks or the SuperManager settings?

Thanks!

Another option I would like to see ... if it's even possible that is .... Could the QuickBooks Class be set to populate by Cart?  This would give us a way to have multiple stores flow through one SuperManager database and separate the Sales by Cart using Classes.  Or maybe do Income by cart?

Thanks!

Finished Requests / To Be Emailed option
May 02, 2008, 05:38:50 PM
Hey Guys,

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option in the set-up for QuickBooks.  Would like the option to check 'to be emailed' .... like the 'to be printed' option that we can turn on/off when orders are exported to QuickBooks.

Would that be possible?

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

I know this is something you would like to offer, but development time is limited.  I was wondering - if several users wanted this feature, and agreed to split the cost, would that help?

If so, maybe you can run a poll to see who is really interested and will invest in the enhancement?  I know of other programmers who have done this and it's really a win-win for everyone.

Thanks,
Rox-)

Other Software / OSCommerce and SuperManager
January 17, 2007, 08:18:49 PM
I just wanted to say Thank You to David an Mike for continuing to work on SuperManager and expanding the carts it will interface with.  I've had a few clients who needed an interface with OS Commerce recently, an the SuperManager plug-in is working nicely.

Great job guys!

QuickBooks / SuperManager/Quickbooks and Vista
January 17, 2007, 08:16:57 PM
A quick question.  QuickBooks 2007 is Vista compliant, I was wondering if SuperManager has been tested with Vista yet?

As a side note - Vista is 'ugly' .... it looks and works SO much different then what we are all used to, it should be interesting.

Thanks,
Rox :-)

I've run into this issue a few times - we will get an error message that the orders are unavailable or the server is timed out (I will write down the exact message next time) - yet once we click through the error message all the orders are imported.

Is this a known issue to a specific version or set-up?  I have also noticed that if we try to download to many orders at a time from Yahoo we will get an error and have to redo smaller batches.  This does not happen with all clients, just a few.

Thanks,
Rox :-)

Finished Requests / Dictionary : Resolved
January 17, 2007, 08:06:31 PM
Ok, this is purely personal

Is there any way we can add words to the Spell Check?  Or can you just add 'Rox' for me .... lolol.....this is SO not top priority!

Thanks,
Rox  :-D

Program Setup / Databases with Different Settings
January 17, 2007, 08:03:23 PM
I know we talked about this before, but it's becoming more of an issue for me now.

I set up a lot of databases for clients, then we restore them to their computer.  The problem I run into is whatever settings I used on the last database changes all the databases.  So if I set up a client to use the Date option as the customer name to control the customer item list entries; when I import my orders and want the customer name/address, etc., I have to remember to go back in and change that or do a cut/paste dance.  Then I set up a customer and forget to change it back.

Is there any way we can either have the settings saved/ per database or an easier way to deal with this?

Thanks,
Rox  :-)
