General / Re: Updating item codes
September 06, 2006, 03:26:36 PM
Eric,

SuperManager first tries to use the the product code to identify the product.  If it can't find it by product code it will search by product id.  If it still can't be found that way it will just create a new product.  Did it seem that SuperManager matched the new and old product codes?

Thanks,
David

Finished Requests / Re: Auto-Save when exiting SM?

Eric,

Are you asking if it is possible for SM to fail to ask you or saying that you would like a setting to dictate whether SM should prompt you or not?  If the latter I  you mean you would like it to automatically save the file on exit?

Thanks,
David

Program Setup / Re: FedEx Integration..... smtofedex.txt ?
September 05, 2006, 05:28:10 PM
Ahsan,

Sorry that the instructions were not completely clear.  It seems that FedEx has made revisions to ShipManager that we need to incorporate into the manual.  Thanks to your documenting the differences here it should be pretty easy for us.

From the looks of the file I am guessing the following will resolve the problem:

1. Go to "View" | "Program Settings..." | "Import Formats" and select your fedex import format.  If you are using the default one it is just called "FedEx"
2. Set the text qualifier to " (double quote)
3. Click 'OK' to save and close the settings and try it again.

Let me know if this works for you.

Thnks,
David

General / Re: SMTP issue
September 05, 2006, 05:11:17 PM
Nathan,

There are a multitude of security programs out there that restrict SMTP access.  Norton and McAfee both can restrict SMTP.  Are there any security programs that are installed on the PC?  If so perhaps you can browse through the help for the software and see if there is anything that talks about restricting SMTP access.  Also it may just be necessary to add SuperManager to the list of programs that are permitted to access the internet as described for some of the more common software packages here:

Let me know if you find anything.

Thanks,

Finished Requests / Re: Address Validation?
September 05, 2006, 04:58:25 PM
Eric,

This is one that has been on our development plan.  With enough customer interest it could be bumped up to the nearterm.  Are there any others interested in this capability?

Thanks,
David

General / Re: 1.1.2.2 - Login time
September 05, 2006, 04:56:01 PM
Eric,

2 minutes is not the typical wait time for SM to login.  Typically I can open SM and download ~100 orders in less than a minute.  Did making the modifications to your internet settings that you described on the other post greatly increase the login time?  Are you still dealing with slow login?

Thanks,
David

Good question.  This question was raised on a previous post.  I'll refer you to my answer there:

Fixed Bugs / Re: 1.1.2.2 Error
September 05, 2006, 03:19:24 PM
Eric,

Thanks for the info.  We will consider adding this to the installer.  In the meantime it is nice to have this post as a reference to other users that may experience the same problem.

Thanks!

Ahsan,

There a couple things you need to do here.  The first is on the SuperManager side.  You will need to go through the ship mapping process as described in section 7.7.a "Shipping Methods and Map Ship Dialog" of the manual.  Once the shipping methods are mapped the mail class will be properly chosen for you.

The second problem is one of a couple things.  It could be that you have "Test Print Only" selected under "View" | "Program Settings..." | "XML Exchange" | "Dazzle".  It could also be that you need to select a different postage template in Dazzle itself.

Thanks,
David

Program Setup / Re: FedEx Integration..... smtofedex.txt ?
September 04, 2006, 10:54:10 AM
Ahsan,

Sorry the manual is missing this important bit of info.  You can create this file by selecting any order(s), right clicking and choosing "Export" | "FedEx".  The smtofedex.txt file is just the file that SM will be exporting and FedEx will be using as its database.  You just need to create it in SuperManager by exporting one or more orders and titling it that.  Then, when you browse for it in the FedEx setup just choose the location that you exported it to in SM.

Post back whether this works for you.

Thanks,
David

General / Re: Invalid Order type?
September 04, 2006, 10:38:25 AM
ajentp,

It sounds like your order types have been deleted somehow.  You can restore (or add if they were never entered) them by going to "View" | "Store Settings..." | "Custom Fields" | "Order Types" and adding new order types to the list.

Note that when you type an order type in the order type box on the order details screen it will not automatically add a new order type.  New order types have to be added in this location in the store settings.  If you type an order type in the box on the order details screen it would likely cause this error to happen since an existing order type is not selected.

Were these online orders or were all of them ones you entered manually?

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
David

QuickBooks / Re: QB XML importing
September 04, 2006, 07:46:59 AM
Nathan,

As long as it is on a virtual drive I am not sure what the issue would be.  After moving your QB file you will need to go to "View" | "Store Settings..." | "Accounting Export" and change the value of "QuickBooks File Path" to the new location.  Have you already done this?

As for multi-user, yes this is something we are interested in doing.  We are considering taking this on and are trying to plan the right time to do this, since other developments will have to be put on hold while this transition takes place.

Thanks,
David

QuickBooks / Re: QB XML importing
September 04, 2006, 03:58:21 AM
Nathan,

Glad everything is working well for you.  Please let us know how the new features work out for you.  Sometime in the next week we will be releasing beta 1.1.2.3, which includes a request rating button among other things.  We'll send you a notice when it is ready.

So - to your question - do you have the files located on your server, then a drive mapped to the folder on your server where they reside or are you using paths like this one "\\myserver\myfolder\myqbfile.qdb"

Thanks,
David
