QuickBooks / Re: Sales TaX Payable

Yes, this is correct.

The reason is because QB's does not actually calculate taxes, it is a line on the form instead ... thus always reporting what was actually collected on the cart.  I know it looks weird, but is works really well to keep the various programs from 'fighting' over the tax calcs.

Hope that helps a bit,
Rox :-)

Yes, I have tested it on QBs 2010 Pro, Premier, and Enterprise without any issues.  I have also tested on XP and Vista without problems; have not tried Windows 7 yet.

I think the 2nd option would also be better ... might run into problems using the last address line.  Adding it to the shipment line items sounds like a really good option.

Do you know if this was the most recent update that caused the problem?  I mean, did you have updates installed before (up to R7) and everything was working and then the update that came out a week or two is what caused it?

If you use the custom report to filter out sales receipts that are not zero, you will want to get your updates and update QB's accordingly.  I always set up the custom report so any non-zero sale receipts show up to be reviewed/fixed as needed.

You can create a Statement and send that ... the Memo will show up as a line item on the statement form.

Before you go thru uninstalling and re-installing .. how large is the file?  How large are your lists?

Right click on your QBW file and make sure it has not been changed to read-only.

Break the current link from SuperManager to QB's and attempt to re-connect.

Are you sure no other programs have been added/updated?

If you do have to uninstall/re-install ... Make SURE you have several back-ups of the data file and run all your maintenance programs and reboot the computer before re-installing.  Once QB's is installed, get the updates.

What version of QB's?  Can you open QB's without issues?  It's only when you do the exchange you get the error?  Anything else change on the computer?  New firewall or virus protection programs?

You can edit your Preferences that QB's does not have to be open for the exchange and see if that works.

With QB's open, press F2 to see how large your file and lists are.

The name has to match ... so if it is saying 'Medina' - that is what you have to call the item on your item list.  The name is coming from your cart.

David,

Is it still on the 'wish list' for a future development?

Thanks!

Yikes!  You can upgrade to the Enterprise version of QB's ...if you decide to do that though, let me know .... I have a rep that can save you some money.

Otherwise you need to start a new file, or start merging customers.  You can delete anything that does not have transactional history.

Michele,

With QB's open, press F2 and see how many customer names are listed ... just to make sure QB's is not causing the issue.

I had her set up to use the date as the customer name so the customer list stays manageable.
