QuickBooks / Re: Open Orders from Yahoo
May 20, 2006, 04:16:09 AM
Rox,

If the payment appears in your Yahoo! Store but not in The SuperManager you may just need to select the order on the order list, right click and choose "Update from Yahoo!".  When you do this you won't loose any changes you have made to the order but it will pick up any card events that have been made since your downloaded the order.  If after updating it the card event still does not appear please let us know and we will arrange a remote session or get a screen shot from you.

Thanks,
David

General / Re: Forum Setting

Rox,

Maybe Mike knows another way that includes all new posts but there are two things I know of...

1. There is a link at the bottom of the main page under stats "View the 10 most recent posts on the forum."

2. The categories with new posts will have a bright blue dot next to them instead of grey and then inside the categories the topics with new posts have a "new" tag next to them.

General / Re: Lite Vs. Full Order Manager

Rox,

Good question.  I added a comparison of the features at the following link http://www.thesupermanager.com/smliteqb.html

QuickBooks / Re: Open Orders from Yahoo

Rox,

Actually the payment event will be added to the order regardless of whether the batch it belongs to has been submitted.

If you add a payment event it should mark it as paid, but it seems the problem is that it is not recognizing one of the ones that is already in it.

Could you email me a screenshot of the order and I will check it out?

Thanks,
David

QuickBooks / Re: Open Orders from Yahoo

Rox,

Thanks for the question.  An order is left "Open" until the amount paid matches the amount due.  Generally you need to add total line items, payment events or adjust item quantities or prices to either lower the amount due or increase the amount paid.  So if the order was charged, but not for the full amount you may need to adjust the order to reflect why you didn't charge the full amount.  This is addressed in detail in section 8.2 of the user manual http://www.thesupermanager.com/sm_usersmanual.pdf#page=37

Feel free to post back if you have a specific order that the methods discussed there don't seem to be addressing and we will take a further look at it.

Thanks,
David

Finished Requests / Re: New Icon for Open Orders
May 17, 2006, 07:10:27 PM
Rox,

Let me make sure I understand which one you don't like.  "On-Hold" orders should have a red hand.  Is it open orders you mean?  They are the ones that should have a yellow men at work sign.  Is this right?

Thanks,
David

The method you described sounds correct.  There is one thing I can think of right off that could be causing this.  If you are accessing the new store using a different username than the previous one you will need to make sure The SuperManager signs out of Yahoo! store each time it closes the file.  This option is found under "View" | "Program Settings..." on the "Preferences" tab.  Make sure the "Logout of Yahoo! when store file is closed" setting is checked.  Otherwise The SuperManager is not able to log out for you before trying to log in as the other user required for the new file.

Let me know if this helps.

David

Program Setup / Re: Yahoo Merchant Starter Stores
May 17, 2006, 06:51:22 PM
Rox,

Thanks for the info on the compatibility issues with different providers.  I have received emails from starter stores in outlook and I can save the attached file and import it without hitch.  I am guessing that the problems you have experienced with outlook attachments are caused by Norton spam filter or someother spam/virus protection device.  I may be modifying the attachment to make it no longer well formed xml.

As far as importing orders from your starter store I would recommend the email method you mentioned.  Then for orders you recieve daily I would recommend importing them one by one as they arrive to your inbox or by resending all the orders from the day at the end of each day.

You should just have to save the attachement to the desktop, then choose "File" | "Import" | "Yahoo" | "Orders XML" to import the files Yahoo! sends you.

Thanks,
David

QuickBooks / Re: QuickBooks and Single User Mode
May 17, 2006, 06:45:56 PM
Rox,

That depends on how The SuperManager is set up with QuickBooks.  The first time you use The SuperManager to export information to QuickBooks, QuickBooks will issue a security prompt asking for permission to all The SuperManager to inferface with it.  In this prompt you can choose what type of access to grant and if you have users set up in your file, which user the SuperManager will log in as.  If you choose for The SuperManager to log in as administrator there will be no issue.  If you tell it to log in as another user The SuperManager will only be able to perform actions that user has permission to do.  Any attempt to do other actions will end in an error.

Good question!  I hope this answers it sufficiently.

Thanks,
David

Rox,

Yes it does.  The Lite version will export to both QuickBooks and QuickBooks POS.

QuickBooks / Re: QuickBooks and Single User Mode
May 17, 2006, 06:03:05 PM
Rox,

Actually you can use it in multiple-user or single-user mode now.  At least we have tested that in QB 2006 and it worked both ways.

David

Rox,

Currently we interface with QuickBooks and QuickBooks POS.  The QuickBooks POS interface is very similar to the QuickBooks interface.  We have considered adding similar support for PeachTree or microsoft's new accounting package.  If anyone is interested in these functionalities please post here so we will know there is a significant demand.

Thanks,
David

Great comment.  Thanks!

Rox,

We have actually recently completed a QuickBooks quick start guide.
http://www.thesupermanager.com/smliteqb_qsguide.pdf

This applies equally to the full and Lite versions since they share the exact same functionalities with respect to exporting to QuickBooks.  We will keep this document up to date.  You will find it useful as it contains (among a lot of other great information) a full list of the variables you can use in your customer names, QuickBooks class and sales rep fields.

Keep the questions coming!

Thanks,
David

QuickBooks / Re: Customer Name format?
May 17, 2006, 05:16:55 PM
Rox,

Yes - the shipping and billing information are stored independantly in the sales receipt or invoice.  This will never get changed even if the contact information for the customer get changed at some point.

Thanks,
David
