General / Best Backup Method?

Hi - I'd like to set up a fool-proof backup method, meaning that if I've got no one very 'computer literate' available, and we have a hard drive crash, do you have a suggested means of backup?

I'm thinking RAID 1, OR have a USB hard drive attached which is bootable, which is getting nightly copies of the SM database and Dazzle on it. The idea being that if the primary drive fails, one could simply enter the BIOS and reset the drive order.

I'm not sure how this works with RAID 1 - apparently windows 7 Pro had this as a feature (Windows 8, which has unfortunately appeared on my new computer, has something called 'drive spaces', which seems more of a Microsoft debacle :)  ... OR, it seems possible to simply install Windows on the USB drive, and have backup software again wrote backup copies of SM and Dazzle DB's on it.

One other question - is there any issue of making a copy of SM's DB IF it happens to be making a duplicate at that time itself?

Printing Reports / Margins for Printing Reports

Hi All,

Setting up SM on a new computer, with a fresh install of Windows 7. All is working well, except when printing reports, the left and top margins default to 0px, though we're using the same .html document as we had before. Do you know of a way to permanently save the margins so they do not need to be adjusted each time reports are printed?

Hi All,

Two things...one, when we print ANYthing, receipt, picklist, etc, Supermanager then freezes, and task manager is needed to shut it down.

Second, Supermanager looses any non-default program settings when it's restarted. I'm on the latest version.

Any ideas?

Hi All,

As you know, when shipping via USPS (which we do exclusively) there are several box choices which affect cost. We used to fairly rapidly be able to see what adjustments to make when the total shipment weight was displayed on the main order dialogue box.

If the total order weight could be shown somewhere within the initial order window again, that would be very helpful. What would be even more helpful would be a quicker way to change shipping methods or boxes from the first window ~ i.e. "medium flat rate box", "small flat rate box" ~ or convert to first class mail - that sort of thing. Seeing what's in the shipment, as the window displays now, isn't all that helpful (to us anyway, it may certainly be for others) ~ perhaps the space can be used for one of these features.

General / Weight gone from order window with upgrade

Hi,

We've just upgraded to the latest beta, and the package weight, which is very important to our order processing, no longer shows on the first order dialog box -- only after the order is opened. (Now we see "commission" instead.) This is a show stopper for us at the moment -- can you offer how I can downgrade from 1.4.2.8 beta?

Howdy,

We're trying to eliminate several clicks when charging orders. We've addressed this before, but even with the proper settings we're unable to achieve the setup we'd like.

Specifically, we'd like to charge a list of orders from the Open tab, but have prompts come up for every order. Our authorization floor is set at $1000, though we are getting prompted to authorize the charge first for every order on the list. Also, we have CVV usage turned off in Yahoo's backend, but are getting prompted for CVV when manual orders in the list. Could you help us out? We'd REALLY like to simply charge the order list with one click - never authorizing, and not using CVV.

Howdy,

I'd like Dazzle to recognize 'small flat rate box' and 'large flat rate box', though when attempting to add these, the only flat rate option for Dazzle XML Exchange / Package type for selected export is FLATRATEBOX. There may be a place to add this by the user, but I am unaware.

Hi,

We're getting this error (Login Error: Access Denied: No Mailbox Found)  fairly regularly, and cannot figure out why. It appears when new orders come in, but not with every new order (as far as I can tell). We are set up with custom order confirmation and shipping emails, with order tracking disabled. Emails are sent properly from our system. Any ideas?

General / Item Codes in Customs Forms

Hi All,

Is there a way to prevent item codes from appearing on USPS International mailing labels processed through Dazzle? The codes take up space where the complete item description would be of more value.

Heya,

One of Yahoo Store's missing features is the ability to customize the order confirmation emails that are sent to customers. Would it be possible to turn this off in the backend of Yahoo, and have order confirmation emails sent out using a custom template from Super Manager? Granted this may require leaving the store computer on all the time, but it would be a huge leap forward for store owners to do this (we all know what it's like when a customer starts reading back their order number with 'yhst-xxxx....'

I'm uncertain of this: is it possible now to send custom order tracking emails from SM instead of Yahoo?

Program Setup / Turning Off Order Charging Prompts?

Hi,

Is it possible to turn off order charging prompts? Particularly: "A Pre-Authorization is recommended before charging this amount. Would you like to pre-authorize now?" and "Execute this charge without authorization?" I would particularly like this turned off when charging a list of orders from the Open order tab.

Howdy,

Upgraded to the latest version as of 1/28 yesterday. XP machine ~ all was working well. Charge/authorization is now not possible while customer is on the phone, as it seems to take literally ten times as long to initiate the process (the first box coming up asking if we want to charge the order).

And, now we're getting a prompt for every order when charging many at once (it use to be only within an order screen, but now happening when charging a list). I would like to turn off all prompts! Yes, we'd like to charge, Yes, we'd like to do it without an authorization ~ this is too time consuming. Can you instruct?

This COULD be Dazzle - Both SM and Dazzle recently went through updates. Dazzle does not recognize any country other than US properly; tested on two computers. All international shipping methods respond the same way. Any way to confirm which program is having the trouble? The xml file does have these lines: <MailClass>INTLFIRST</MailClass>
  <PackageType>RECTPARCEL</PackageType> and
<ToCountry>Korea, Republic of</ToCountry>

Any thoughts?

Other Software / USPS Delivery Confirmation Default

Hi,

When exporting to Dazzle, and one shipment in the middle of the list is marked for signature confirmation, the shipments following this then have no barcode or tracking info for delivery confirmation. I believe the dazzle layout we're using has this as default. Can delivery conf. be sent in the XML file as a default? Or is there a current way to ensure this?

Hi,

We ship flat rate. Shipping cost is simply determined by the choice in the 'shipping method' pull down. Is there a way to have a corrosponding dollar figure end up in the shipping 'total' without having to enter it manually?

Printing Reports / Pick List Sorting

Hi Y'all,

Sorting of the picklist would be exceptionally helpful (we need it sorted by item name, though I'm sure others need the product ID) - or can I grab the file somehow and import it to Excel?

Hi,

On a Vista machine, happens consistently: Entering a manual order, then click 'sale' - ENTIRE order dialog goes blank, leaving me to have to ask the customer to repeat everything. If I save, then click 'sale', all is well.

Hi Y'all,

Wondering if there's a way to sort the pick list. It would be much more helpful for us to be able to sort it by item name - it seems it's sorted by order date/time now. Is this configurable?
