General / Navigate Return (Error 1030)

Hey Guys,

FYI, we were still getting this message, all be it not as often, but I think I might have remedied the issue.  We keep our smg file on a network drive and were accessing it via a mapped network drive.  We were running into some issues with another database file we were accessing the same way and I can across a thread on a forum suggesting that accessing database files via mapped network drives can sometimes be unstable.  I changed it so we were using the full network drive to the file (ie //192.168.1.1/myfolder/myfile.smg) and the issue seems to have disappeared.

Just thought I would share that update in case someone else was running into the same issue.

Hey Guys,

Overall I really like the changes you are making to SM! Just noticed when I was in the Product Details Page that it says "de" instead of "Code".  We are using 1.3.0.8.

Hi David,

I have the Supplier Part Number set for all the variants of the items we dropship.  I have placed "item_variant_supplier_part" in the PO Template i have been using and it is outputting "variant_supplier_part" in the form when I print it.  I have attached a copy of the part of our form in question.

Is there a way to have the supplier part number show on a invoice or packing slip?  We are currently using a Packing Slip template that prints a packing slip that says "Please dropship the following to:" for our Dropship Fax form, but our suppliers want their part number on the dropship form. 

I would actually prefer if I could just easily generate a PO with the customer info as the ship to instead of our address, but I haven't seen an easy way to do that either.

Any feedback would be appreciated.  How are other merchants dealing with dropship POs?  Most of our suppliers require us to fax them the order.

Hi David,

I check the suggestion you made, and our shipments are set properly in the "Dazzle/Endicia XML Exchange" settings.  We use Dazzle exchange every day, and it was working just fine until we upgraded SM.

I upgraded last night to the latest version of SM and now Dazzle XML Exchange just returns "There are no addresses in your list.  Please check your list . . .".

The following is the entirety of the code in the xml file:

Hey Guys,

Could we add to the new features docket the ability for SM to optionally download product updates from Yahoo.  My thought would be that one of our option in settings would be a check box to have it automatically download product updates, and if it is checked, it would download product updates at midnight every day, so that the changes we made the day before will be in SM when we come in the next morning.  We often add products to the web after store hours, and we seldom remember to update SM when we are done.  It does not matter with online orders since SM will update the product when the order is downloaded, but since we do so much over phone, email and fax, it is frustrating when we know we added it to the website, but it is not in SM.  Anyway, I went on longer than I intended to.  I just thought it would be a useful feature.

Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could make it so when multiple address possibilities are found  when you check the address, if we could just double click on the correct address and have it autofill the address field with the proper information.  We run into the multiple possible addresses several times a week and having this ability would be convenient.

Requests for new Features / Re: Multi-User version

Hey all,

I have a couple suggestions on stretching SM's to sort of support multiple users.  We have installed SM on a computer that is not used all of the time and have set up a remote connection program so that anyone in the office can remotely access the read/write copy of SM.  This requires us to communicate as to who needs it most at the moment, but at least we all have access to it.  You can use Windows Remote Desktop to do this, but the machine running SM would need to have Windows 2000, XP Pro, or a server version of windows to make that work.  We have elected to use a program called Radmin.  It allows all of us to be logged into the computer that has SM running in read/write mode simultaneously (Windows Remote Desktop only supports one user at a time, unless you make some registry changes), and has a Messaging program built into it so we can communicate via that.  I would be happy to provide info on Radmin if anyone is interested.

Another thought I had would be directed to the SM Developers. Is there a way you could have SM be able to xml exchange data between read only copies and the read write copy.  Ie, when a read only version updates something, ie the shipping info, SM (Read Only) could ask if you would like to xlm exchange this info with the read/write version.  This would at least allow us to have the ability to make updates.  I think it would be difficult to use this feature to add new orders, but at least it would extend our ability to update SM with updates to pre-existing orders.  I know for us, our shipping department does not need full Read/Write Access, just the ability to send the shipping info back to the read/write SM, and our front desk just needs to be able to make changes to customer info, not add orders.  Though in the long run we will need multi-user access for full read/write, this would at least pacify us for a bit. 8-)

I have come across several issues in the latest version of SM that I thought I would let you guys know about. 


  • If you add a custom item, hit ok and attempt to re-edit a custom item the price and value disappear.
  • You can not re-edit items that have been entered into a PO once you hit ok on the add item interface.
  • Only the packing list that is set as the default packing list will print the shipment you have selected to print the packing list for.  We use the packing list to print  portions of the order that have to be dropshipped, and we have a different template for that. Either our Packing List or Dropship Packing List will print correctly if it is the default packing list and we hit print default packing list, but will only print the first shipment if it is not the default packing slip.

Let me know if I can lend any  on finding or fixing these issues.

Fixed Bugs / Error YFX 0110

I am occasionally getting an "Improper Allocation Error" Error YFX0110.  Not sure what it is or what that means, but when I get this error it fails to process a manual order.  Sometimes it locks up my yahoo manager and I have to call them to unlock it.  The are supposedly working on whatever it is no there end that is locking up, but I thought you should be aware of what SM was doing.

Just a though.  Is anyone else saving their data to a network drive?  I am just wondering if the navigation error has something to do with writing and reading a network drive.

The latest update did fix the issue of the .tmp files, but i am still receiving the navigation error, if I leave SM open over night.  I have seen several other posts where people are receiving the same error:

It looks like you thought you had fixed it (saw previous to these messages the fixed bug for 1001 error), but I am still getting the navigation error.

General / Shipment_items?

I was trying to modify our templates to be able to show how many items should be in each package on the packing slip, but all I can find is order_items for the whole order.  Is there such a variable?

PS Tried shipment_quantity and shipment_items and both of these locked up SM when i tried to print.

We are using autosave.  I wonder if it is a problem that ties to the other issue I reported about the Navigation error, whenever I get that pop up message, there is also the message at the bottom of SM that says error with autosave.  This issue does not seem to happen very frequently during the day, but it is almost guaranteed that it will be an issue if I leave SM open overnight.
