Installation / Multiple Computers
May 09, 2012, 07:40:48 AM
We have several computers and people who process orders. Is it possible for this software to be installed on several machines all managing the orders from the same account(s) and have any changes update so other users on other computers can view those changes?

EDIT

I found another post with this same question however i tried it out and it's not really working out how I need it to. What I really need the software to do is immediately update any changes across all users. If someone enters a new order (manual), or changes a order (web or manual), that change needs to be able to be saved no matter what computer your using. If computer #1 is using the database, adding, deleting, and modifying orders; #computer #2 can't save to the database at the same time.

There seems to be an odd white bar going across the screen after I print something. To remove it, I have to close SM and re-open. See attached image. Notice the white area under the file menu.

Also, when setting up UPS export to SM, in section 11.4.b.3, there is no "Reference ID" in the "Ship to tab".

--EDIT--

Got it working. UPS is now sending back the correct information to SM. Now on to Dazzle.... :-)

I have tried the XML version however it requires that weights be present on all shipments. SM is not grabbing the weights from Americart when it downloads the orders. Secondly, we ship for 3 other people so to ship packages, we scan each one with a barcode and scale.  The XML suggestion requires that the label be printed as soon as the XML exchange occurs. This would cause a problem since we have other orders from other clients getting mixed in.

Is worldship able to update the tracking information on SM once the shipment has been processed?

General / Printing

When printing my invoice and order summary (which includes a tear-off sheet with a barcode for UPS), is there a way to have the print button print the invoice from the paper in tray 1 and the summary in tray 2? All of this without having to constantly be greeted with the printer select dialog where I have to choose my feed tray?

Other Software / Worldship Maps
May 08, 2012, 05:36:37 AM
When creating Worldship maps, I can map everything correctly, then when I export to worldship and attempt to pull up an order to ship it, Worldship says no data is found. Also, i noticed in the CSV file SM is adding "-1" to all the customer ID's.

Correction...the "-1" has been fixed but Worldship still will not see anything I export to it.

Got it working nevermind :-)

David,

I can find ODBC in control panel however the problem is when clicking on the System DSN tab, then "ADD", I do not have the option to select "Microsoft Text Driver". The only 2 options that show up after clicking "Add" are SQL Native Client, and SQL Server.

Step 3 in the help pdf says I have to select "Microsoft Text Driver (*.csv, *.txt)"
from the option list and then click "Finish". Theree is no Microsoft Text Driver to select. I only have 2 options:

SQL Native Client, and SQL Server

arueder,

Yes, you can do that.  Please check out this post, which contains an invoice template that includes a barcode:
http://www.thesupermanager.com/forum/index.php/topic,726.0.html

For exporting orders to a CSV file, there is a pre-defined export format called "UPS WorldShip" that should work for you.  Instructions for setting up a link to WorldShip using ODBC/CSV are in section 11.4.b.  You can choose "Help", "User's Manaul" from SuperManager's main menu to get to the user's manual.  Post back if you need any help.

Thanks,
David
