Makes sense.  Thanks, Mike.

Program Setup / Imported orders shipping data
March 22, 2007, 10:19:21 AM
The orders we imported into SM from Yahoo are showing incorrect shipping information.

1) Order status is marked as Charged rather than Charged and Shipped.
2) The carrier always shows USPS even UPS was the carrier.
3) The shipments are marked as Not Shipped rather than Shipped (the only orders to appear in the Closed tab are the ones that were marked Cancelled in Yahoo!)
4) No Tracking ID is present.

There are many different ways to make this work in your environment and if you describe your working style to us then we can work with you on finding the best solution possible.

We specialize in highly customizable products and this necessitates us doing much work on the phone with our customers.  There are currently two of us throughout the day on the phone and expect to add a third by next Xmas.  We are in and out of customer orders throughout the day.  These items are shipped both from inventory and drop shipped.

I will highly appreciate any thoughts others may have to get around this limitation.  Please let me know more of these "many different ways"!

Yes, our computers are networked.

Have I misunderstood?  That we can, in fact, have multiple users?

Have any other SM users come up with a work-around for this?

Program Setup / Multiple Users
March 21, 2007, 03:20:58 PM
We currently have two workstations from which we would like SM to be operated from.  But I have come up with a possible work-around for the multiple users limitation the app.  Please share your comments and concerns about this idea

Install SM on a third PC and the two work stations can "dial in" via a virtual desktop (something like GoToMyPC).

Also, if we did this, would our QuickBooks installation have to be on the same PC as SM?

I realize this proposed setup isn't very scalable and, candidly, am hesitating to commit to something I know we will outgrow.  But this seems to be our best solution for now.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Yes, that's what i mean.  However, I want to be sure that this change will not change the yahoo Tracking Information to Shipped, thus triggering an email to our customers.  But, now that I think about it, I can probably turn off the Yahoo Shipment Tracking feature temporarily while we do this.

Program Setup / Open Orders question
March 21, 2007, 10:53:09 AM
For various reasons, we have a bunch of imported orders that were never marked as Shipped in Yahoo.  This means they appear in SM's Open tab.

Is there a quick and dirty way we could mark all these old orders as Shipped and then re-import them into SM?

How do I edit the price of an item inside a customers order?

Program Setup / Importing Orders

The importing process failed when attempting to do the first import (which was for our entire order history).  So I went ahead and imported just the last 500 or so.  But how do I now import all the previous orders?

Program Setup / Cannot import batches
March 20, 2007, 06:13:37 PM
Attempting to setup program. Upon importing batches:

"Error - Unable to interpret credit card expiration '01-09' in batch 520, sale/credit 1."

Sure enough, upon viewing batch 520 in Yahoo, all the other expiration dates are formatted X/XXXX.

This error halted the online import process.  What should I do now?
