Tip: FedEx Integration - Company Name

Hi,

With the addition of Company Name to the SM software I had to setup FedEx to now accept the company name. After several frustrating hours and a few calls to FedEx tech support which is actually pretty good we still couldn't figure out why the fields were not importing correctly. We I now have the solution. Go into the Integration  and write down all your settings. Now go and create a new profile. It will put the Company Name in the correct place and map correctly.

How do you get the company name to show in SM. When orders come in it does not show. Also, what is the variable name for the company name?

Here is what I export

OrderNumber, RecipientContactName, RecipientAddress1, RecipientAddress2, RecipientCity, RecipientState, RecipientPostalCode, RecipientPhone, RecipientCountry, RecipientEmail, PackageWeight, ServiceType, Item Short Description, Item Quantity, Item Code, Item Description, Manufacturer Country Code, Unit Value, Total Order Value, RecipientCompany

order_id, "ship_first_name ship_last_name", ship_address1, ship_address2, ship_city, ship_state, ship_zip, ship_phone_number, ship_country_code, order_email, shipment_weight_pound, order_ship_method, order_item_list, item_quantity, item_code, item_description, item_product_origin_country_code, item_price, item_ext_price, ship_company

Please also note that I ship across borders so that is why I have the last few items. You will also notice that I put the ship_company field last as I was having issues with FedEx when it was earlier in the field list. Remember to do a completely new integration setup as there is a bug it seems in the program that won't pick up the company name on an existing setup.

Hope this helps. FedEx Canada has excellent support so if you are having problems I am sure that they are just as good in the US so give them a call. Up here they can even log into your computer (with your permission of course) and check your setup.

Mike - This is added in recent beta versions.  We are nearing completion of the updates and will be releasing it to everyone shortly.  If you would like to use the beta please contact me and we will send it out to you if you are eligible for upgrades.

I just wanted  to let everyone know that I had no problem adding the Company name to the FedEx integration. I did not need to make a new profile. So anyone who comes up against this issue, try adding it first before going to the trouble of creating a new profile.  :wink:

Forgot to add that I am using the Canadian Version and it's got bugs (oh does it have bugs). Thanks for clarifying.
