Is it possible to download order reports from Amazon and import them into SM? We simply have too many orders at this time of year to download. I tried setting up an import following the Amazon.com Orders import format, but when I try to import the orders, it crashes, saying an unknown order has occurred and SuperManager was forced to close.

Unfortunately Amazon does not offer an export that includes all the data that can be obtained through the API.  There are, however, other options for accounting for your Amazon orders.  Check out this recent blog entry that gives some other options:
