Hi guys,

I was curious if you had any plans to implement the ability for SM to utilize any 3rd party tools for CC fraud detection; IE - MaxMind?

Thanks

Eric

Eric,

Thanks for pointing us to this.  We will consider adding support for minFraud.  It would probably be 3-6 months before we would be able to implement it due to other features that we are currently developing.  We will keep you posted.

Thanks,
David

Can I ask how the fraud detention works. We use address verification and cvv checking right now and haven't seen any fraud yet?? But I am sure it usually take a few months to show up with chargebacks. Can you point me to any websites for these products.

Nathan,

Here is a link to the fraud detection product this company offers:

Let us know if you are interested as well.  The more people that are interested the higher the priority would be for our development plan.

Thanks,
David

Thanks much. I looked at some of the parameters it looks at and see that is probably is a bit much for us. Most of our goods are valued at under $200 and thus we don't worry about that much fraud plus our goods are not your typical resale of items (computers, ipods, etc).

I enjoy these discussions as it helps me keep on top of everything.

The newest beta version now supports MaxMind minFraud.

To start using it go to ?View? | ?Program Settings?, choose the ?XML Exchange Formats? tab.  Select ?MaxMind? and enter your license key.  Checkmark the ?Query for new orders? if you want it to automatically pull the risk score when you download new orders.  Checkmark the ?Copy details to order notes? if you want to see the detailed message MaxMind sends for each order.  Note that checking this option will significantly increase your file size since the explanations are sometimes quite large.  That may or may not be a problem depending on how many orders you routinely keep in your file.

After doing this, you will need to close SuperManager and re-open it.  You will see a new column ?Risk? appear on the order list.
