I have just set up a new export format so that I can export my product list into excel.  I followed all the steps, and when the excel gets created, the actual names of the variables are there in the excel columns, however the data is missing.

It seems as though the data is not being pulled from SM properly.

Can you please post a screenshot of the export format you are using and tell us the steps you are using to export the products?

View->products->product list->select products from list ->
right click on selected list-> export -> Wholesale Price List

The problem appears to be that all the variables used for exporting products should start product_ rather than item_.  The item_ variables are used for items that are in orders.  The terminology SuperManager uses is products are what you have in stock and items are what your customers buy.  Sorry if that was not clear in the documentation.
