Hey guys,

This error has now become a plague! We can't even get the system to download orders anymore before it crashes, not even after upgrading to v1.6.5.4.

We're running Windows 8.1, on an x64-based operating system, which has the latest update (i.e., KB2962409).

HELP!

Printing Reports / Suddenly Can't Print... HELP!
March 12, 2013, 06:05:40 AM
Sorry guys, don't know if SM is just in a bad mood or what but we cannot get the program to print anything.

We've tried restoring the most recent backup copy, older versions of the file, nothing works.

Any insights or other reports? Thanks as always for your kind .

General / Unable to connect to Yahoo
February 28, 2013, 07:34:08 AM
Is it just a coincidence that, ever since after we upgraded to this version, SM has been...

Quote"[ U ]nable to connect to Yahoo!
Please make sure that you are connected to the internet and  that
your internet connection settings are correct"
UnQuote
...??

Needless to say, we've changed no settings and our access to the intertubes is otherwise unimpeded.

Help please. Thanks, guys.

Hey guys,

It's been a rough couple of weeks. This morning we got this new (subject) error message upon initial startup and subsequently. We've tried...
  • restarting the pgm multiple times:  were able to download twice but otherwise no change.
  • manually "Open[ing] Store Manager" and "Get[ting] New Orders":  no change.
  • rebooting windows and restarting the pgm:  no change.
Checking further, we noticed that Windows Update automatically installed an "important" security update (KB2744842) so we tried uninstalling it, and retrying option 3 above:  no change.

Next, we tried installing the latest beta release of SM, v1.5.3.3:  no change.

Interestingly and as noted above, we were able to haphazardly get orders downloaded on two attempts. On the latest pgm restart, SM apparently did get through as we got the message "No new orders" on the message line. However and thereafter, we tried to bill an order (i.e., clicking the "Sale" button from the Order Details screen. Results:  we got a new error message; to wit, "An unknown error occurred during Yahoo! login."

So, we're only haphazardly able to download orders and unable to do any billing. Please get back to us ASAP on this. Thanks.

Hey guys,

That's the message from a red X dialog box from SM. Despite numerous attempts (restarts, installing latest Update, rebooting entire system, performing a "Save As" and opening this newer file, etc), we are unable to perform virtually any functions. We can neither download nor print orders, old or new.

That is to say, we are entirely dead in the water.

HELP!!

Please get back to me ASAP. Thanks, as always.

Fixed Bugs / SM NOT Generating Emails : Abandoned
May 25, 2011, 11:11:07 AM
Hey Guys,

We've only just noticed that SM has stopped generating emails from within the program. The last known successful generation was on May 10th. And since we've made no changes of any kind, we can only presume that whatever update(s) that you put in place on or about that date is the proximate cause of the trouble.

As a temporary measure we will change the Store Settings > Email Settings to check the "Use Default Mail Client." However, this option is a real P-I-T-A as it generates the HTML as if it were the actual text rather than coding it as source code HTML. FEH!!   :?

Please advise ASAP on a correction to this problem.

Thanks.

Hi David,

I'm sorry to report that my earlier report of the demise of this bug were somewhat exaggerated. It's back... but at least I've got some new symptoms to report (and since the old thread is closed and locked, I'll continue here).

Whenever I change the item_status field to "Backordered," the system apparently automatically inserts "$-1.#IND0000" into the item_cost field. And, of course, the "Save" icon stays bolded and the system continues to ask to ?Save? even after saving has been done.

Also, changing when item_status is changed back to "Normal" and saved, the "Save" icon goes grayed out and the weird data in the item_cost field changes back to "0.00."

So, I hope this helps shed some light on this. Thanks, as always.

P.S.:  this also continues to occur with v1.4.0.2.

Hey guys,

We've often found that it would be very helpful to be able to control the columns of displayed data on the various "View" summary screens (Orders; Products; Suppliers; Purchase Orders).

For example, on the Order summary screen, it would be helpful to, say, be able to show the subtotalled Tax merchandise fields.  :-)

Moreover, if this ability could be coupled with multilevel sorting, it would be powerful.  :-D  Add in the ability to perform a (Super)Find within results and, by golly, Nirvana is within sight.   :-P

Just sayin.

Hey guys,

Sorry to report that there are some problems with backorder handling.

Specifically, whenever we change (an) item(s) status from "Normal" to "Backordered" and we save the change(s), the SM system continues to prompt to save the changes. This is indicated by the Save icon still being lit rather than being grayed out. However, the changes are confirmed as having been saved.

Also, unlike in previous versions, backordered items are no longer deducted from the subtotal during invoicing. Thus, invoices must be manually corrected before issuing. A real PITA, that.

Here's hoping you can provide a fix to these problems sooner than later. Thanks, as always.  :)

General / Package Dimensions
March 19, 2010, 04:14:39 PM
I need to make package dimensions part of several of my custom reports (and e-mail templates) but can't find a reference, either in the SM manual or here in the forum, to any available variables (something like, say, "shipment_package_length", or "shipment_package_width", etc) that I can use.

Does anyone have or know of this information? Thanks in advance for your .  :)

ETA:  I meant the most up-to-date Manual with the very latest revisions.

Hey Guys!

It seems that whenever we cancel an item from an order, although it is monetarily deducted from the merchandise total, the item(s) still show up in the Shipping List Panel (see image below)...

The shipping_items count variable is not reduced (nor added back if the item(s) is(are) reinstated) nor is the Shipping Weight(s) deducted either...

That's it as far as we can tell. Thanks, as always.   =o)

General / Cannot Connect to [email] Server
August 24, 2009, 01:42:23 PM
Hey y'all,

Anybody else having this problem? I keep getting the subject error message and am unable to send emails through the SM server.

At first I thought it was probably maintenance or the like but it's been over 1 week now. Anyone know whassup with that??

Thanks  :)

Hi,

Is anyone else getting this same "Unknown error verifying address" error message? I've been getting it all morning. I've tried shutting down and rebooting SM to no avail. I've also checked the addresses. No misspellings, extra spaces or incompatible characters, etc. I've also been able to independently verify the addresses through USPS.

It may seem like a small problem but we use address-check on every order as one of our methods for  that the customer has not inadvertently sent their order to the wrong (or an undeliverable) address.

Thanks guys.    :-D

P.S.:  also, anyone else notice how the system always return a capital "S" on the Supermanager'S Standardized Name Capitalization function?

General / Complete List of Variables
April 21, 2009, 05:32:32 PM
Hello everyone!

Is there in existence a complete list of variables? The User Manual is incomplete as it has not been updated in quite some time.

We're especially interested right now in the variables used in the Order Detail screen for "Amt Paid" and "Amt Due."

TIA    :-)

Fixed Bugs / Item / Shipment weights
February 06, 2009, 01:51:56 PM
I'm trying to configure a new Packing List report and want to show the item weight, and cumulative item weight. However, when I use the item_weight variable, the results do not match the info stored in the items' records. I use the shipment_weight variable for the cumulative total.

Are these the correct variables to use for this purpose?

Needless to say, any help would be appreciated. TIA as always.

Program Setup / System Crash - HELP!
February 06, 2009, 09:53:05 AM
Hey guys,

Well, it's finally happened. We had a crash and, wouldn't you know it, right in the middle of backing up SM. So now both original and backup files are screwed up.

So here's the question:  how do I import into SM the missing billing batch information?

As far as shipments go, though we weren't using UPS Worldship yet, we're going to try and set it up so we can import from UPS all of the missing shipments data. Same for Dazzle and Fedex.

But, first, the billing... please!!??
Thanks, as always.

General / Can't Import Orders XML file
December 18, 2008, 05:54:21 PM
I have been trying to import some orders into my SM database file from an earlier backup file with no success.

I exported, in XML format, the select few Orders from the older backup. Then I tried to use the Import function (Import > Yahoo! > Orders XML) from the File Menu to import these Orders into my existing database file. No luck.

The Import function on the File menu seems to be the only one that will allow importing of orders. Is there another way to recapture these records??

Thanks, guys, for any help.  :)
